This is a triptych titled Trinity of Folly. Pretty straight forward, however, I did spend an unnaturally large amount of time selecting the appropriate background images and thinking about the punctuation. It was important for me to do my best to separate the ‘GOD’ from ‘LIES’ in that I’m not suggesting that the idea of God is a lie, but rather our constant proselytizing becomes a lie. My lovely assistant pointed out that placing the period after ‘GOD’ provides a slight breakage between the next panel’s text (originally I had the punctuation for ‘GOD’ and ‘FEAR’ reversed). The final punctuation actually makes the whole triptych work better as the ellipsis at the end leads the viewer off into their own aposiopesis and eventually back around to the beginning of this triptych to start the whole journey over again. Ouroboros strikes again!
